Okay, let's be honest Thanksgiving is a time to kick back, relax, watch some football and talk trash, right? Wrong! Not if you didn't consider these 4 things below.
1. Guest List
this year the family voted and you won; thanksgiving dinner will be held at your home. Yippy! Aren’t you lucky! If faith has it, the varying personalities of each family member will surely show up at your front door, you must ensure you have the right seating arrangements beforehand. This alleviates any unforeseen outburst from your relatives. No one wants to sit next to the complainer (Aunt Betty), and easily aggravated (uncle Tom) for the entire evening simply because you forgot to pay close attention to the seating. We cannot choose our family, surely we can choose where they are seated at the dinner table. Honestly, by taking time with the guest list will save you added headache after the turkey is digested.
2. Stay away from Politricks
Never, never discuss politics at the dinner table. Remember Thanksgiving is an opportune time to reconnect with your loved ones and share the reasons why you are truly thankful--which is for family. Heavy topics should be left for one on one conversations, or a mature audience, OFCOURSE respecting each other perspectives is key during this season.
3. Tabling Decor
In the past have you seen the lavish table setting missing one piece of added detail? Yes, the 4 by 6 family photo album? After all, isn't Thanksgiving about family, love and togetherness so why not place 2-3 small picture frames right next to the table ornaments--it provides an added reminder of love just in case anyone gets out of line--rowdy relatives will be reminded as to what's important.
4. Must-Have (s) Games
